When I first saw Snowrunner available for download, I went back and forth about whether or not to buy it. I wasn’t sure it was my kind of game, but the reviews stated what a great game it was. I even watched the game played on YouTube, just to get a feel of it. And I decided to take the plunge and by the game. I found out, very quickly, how over realistic the game was. I won’t lie, when the game started and I was driving the pick up, it took me 10 minutes to realise that I could put the AWD on to make it easier to drive through the mud. In the words of Homer Simpson “doh”. I mean, if I was actually driving a real vehicle, that would have been the first thing I would of done. Then there’s the trucks you use to make the deliveries with. They can get stuck so easily and the toppling over. Oh my goodness, the toppling over. I can’t count the amount of times my truck ended up on it’s side. It didn’t matter how many upgrades I found or brought for the trucks I owned. How much money I earned from the missions to buy better vehicles. I still ended up with a truck lying on its side. I even tried to use a scout vehicle or another truck and I still couldn’t get the flipping thing back on its wheels. The more I had to start the mission over again, the more frustratrd I got. Don’t get me wrong, the more I played it, the better I got. But I got to a point where I really started to hate that truck!! Then there’s the trailers. Now, it’s great when the right trailer just happens to be sitting on the map with the right product on. But, if I head to that trailer with the wrong attachment on, I’m going back to the garage to change it over and then head back to said trailer. Then there was buying the right trailer for the larger products. sometimes, even when I thought I got the right one, it was the wrong one. I won’t lie, when I first strated playing, I always seemed to by getting the wrong trailer or upgrade for my vehicle. I soon found that I had to complete a certain amount of side missions in order to complete the misssions more successfully. Doing these extra side missions meant better roads were more accessible. Which is great. But, not all the maps are the same. Since there are a few maps that had no fuel station or garage on it. Which can make some missions even more harder. To be honest, having to comlete missions on maps without these two places can make you feel like it wiill never end. I know I’ve done a lot of complaining, but as much as this game frustrates the hell out of me. I really do love it. The game play is pretty good. The graphics are pretty good. No mattter how many times I want to rage quit, the game just pulls me back in. Once I undrestood what I was doing, the game got a lot easier. This kind of game is perfect for people who enjoy long games, games that are chellenging and need a lot of patience for full completion. If you’re annything like me. When you first play this game, you will whine and moan. But you will learn to love it.
